Projects in Japan

Tokyo Mission Church,
Tokyo, Japan

Tokyo Mission Church has been established in the same location for 40 years, and ministers to 400,000 people. Members of the church prayed for a new building for 10 years before construction started in January 2001. God is faithful.

At 10,000 square feet in size, the new church seats 250 people and was built to withstand a major earthquake. The project also included the pastor’s home, which you can see to the left of the top picture. The neighbouring homes on the back and sides are only one metre from the church building.

Thanks to the help of 65 construction volunteers, we were able to save this church about $800,000 in building costs. This project was a great blessing to everybody involved, and many lasting friendships were formed. We continue to lift the church members up in prayer.

Sapporo Bible Christ Church

Sapporo Bible Christ Church in Sapporo was our first project in Japan . We constructed this building with 49 volunteers in 1998. This church is blessed beyond measure with wonderful christian people, that love the Lord.

The building was built as two separate buildings that are connected by a hallway, totalling approximately 9,000 square feet and has a covered parking area. The exterior is cultured stone and brick and also has siding on the back.

We exported the materials from Canada in 12 shipping containers. The project took only 3 months to build and the building has survived many earthquakes since it was built. We offer a big thank-you to Mr. Takahashi the architect.
Hachinohe Christ Church
Hachinohe Christ Church had been meeting in the same building for over 30 years. It was cold and had been damaged by too many earthquakes. The believers in this church were a blessing to all of us who helped construct the new 4500 square foot building. At one end of the building is the pastors family apartment. Hopefully in the near future we will be constructing a new day-care centre for their childrens’ ministry. Most of the 24 volunteers hope to return to help in its construction and renew some friendships.
