SungRak Baptist Church, Ilsan, South Korea
SungRak Baptist Church is one of the largest churches in the world with more than 120,000 members. The SungRak project proved to be one of our greatest challenges. We experienced great persecution, spiritual warfare, theft and sickness. The most important thing is that the building is completed and being used by God.
The church was built between October 2000 and May 2001 with the help of 68 volunteers. It seats 850 people. The 15,000-square-foot structure was the first public building in Korea to be constructed of wood.
The sanctuary in this building is 70 feet wide. It has a "glulam" beam roof with a wood ceiling. The exterior is NovaBrik. It was built in a remote location at the base of a mountain and is being used as a conference centre.
We want to thank all 68 volunteers who participated. They were able to overcome many difficulties with the Lord’s help.
