Volunteer Information

Airfares
On most overseas projects, there is no cost to the volunteer for airfare. The airfares are not refundable, however, and if you cancel for any reason not covered by insurance then you must pay the cost of the fare.

Ministry to Men
Volunteers are asked to share their testimony with the local congregation. This can be a time of confession, healing and ministry to the local believers. We have daily devotions and prayer, and participate in ministry.

Unity in Spirit
Volunteers come from many different denominations. We have our Lord Jesus Christ in common. We work together, eat together, worship together and fellowship with the local believers. We also have a lot of fun.

Culture
Along with experiencing the food and customs of the local community, you will also be able to see how God is active in the lives of the local believers. Volunteers are expected to participate as much as possible in the local culture.

Tools
Volunteers need to bring their own tools (at their own risk). You are permitted two bags of luggage, plus a regulation-size carry-on bag. Checked luggage is restricted to 70 lbs each and a total of 63 inches (W+L+H) in size.

Terms
Most volunteers come for three weeks. Sometimes we will accept someone for two weeks. Preference is given to volunteers who can stay for longer terms. Most of our construction projects are completed in two or three months’ time.

Conditions
We work long days, sometimes under difficult conditions for up to 12 hours a day. Volunteers should be good witnesses to the local people and agree in writing to our rules of Christian conduct.

Insurance
We provide emergency medical insurance for all volunteers (this does not cover any pre-existing conditions). All volunteers must agree in writing not to sue the mission or the church for any reason. We pray daily for God’s provision of physical health and protection.

Food and Lodging
The local church involved provides food and accommodation. Volunteers are responsible for all other costs (except airfare).

For each project, volunteers are provided with a list of what to bring and information about travel arrangements.
